Belize cave tubing at Nohoch Che’en
Belize cave tubing at Nohoch Che’en takes you to a cave system on the Sibun River in the eastern Cayo District. Belize City is the departure base rather than the cave location. The practical choice is between a guided tubing outing with a rainforest walk and a combination that adds ziplining. For cruise visitors, that decision also needs to fit the ship’s actual time ashore.
Start with the activity and the pickup arrangement, then compare meals, equipment and entrance fees. These are separate parts of an excursion. A reserve entrance ticket alone does not provide the same service as a guided outing with transport. Our shore excursions guide explains the cruise context, while the tour overview covers other mainland choices.

Participation and equipment
The undated visitor guidance published by NICH calls for a guide, with no more than 8 guests per guide. It gives a minimum height of 40 inches, equivalent to 101.6 cm, and requires swimming ability and good physical condition. A life vest and a helmet with a light are part of that guidance. Height and ability matter independently of the admission category: a child’s entrance ticket is not permission to take part in tubing.
For the rainforest walk and tubing outing, the package includes a licensed local guide, helmet, headlamp, life vest and inner tube. A chicken tamale lunch, bottled water, park fees and entry taxes are included, alongside return transfers from Belize City hotels or the cruise port. Its listed duration is 4.5 hours. Guests arriving from the islands meet at the water taxi luggage claim in Belize City; organise the island crossing separately.
Guided rainforest walk
The guided rainforest hike belongs to that walk-and-tubing package. It is a way to include a forest section in the same outing rather than booking a separate hiking day. Allow for both walking and water activity when deciding whether the programme suits everyone travelling with you. The published swimming and physical-condition guidance remains relevant even when the forest walk is the part that first attracts you.
Zipline options
The tubing-and-zipline outing with an English-speaking guide includes equipment for both activities and water. Pickup and drop-off are from a Belize City hotel, San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi or the cruise terminal, depending on the selected option. Food is extra. The detailed duration is 5 to 10 hours, so choose the actual variant against your available time rather than treating every combination as a short outing.
The combination with lunch has a listed duration of 5 hours. It includes guided cave tubing and a zipline canopy adventure, helmets, headlamps, life vests, tubes and harnesses, plus national park entry fees and local site taxes. Return air-conditioned transport from Belize City or the cruise port, a chicken tamale lunch and bottled water complete the package. These specific inclusions make it useful to compare against the combination where food is extra.

Reserve admission, visiting hours and water levels
The NICH fee schedule effective from 1 January 2025 gives nonresident adult admission as 20 BZD, equivalent to 10 USD. This is reserve admission, not a complete excursion price. Compare it with the exact package inclusions instead of adding it to every tour automatically.
The undated regular visitor timetable lists daily hours of 08:00 to 17:00, a last tour at 16:00 and access only to the first cave after 15:00. Treat these as the normal visiting framework. Water levels can change the programme, so obtain the day’s activity instructions before travelling. Regular visiting hours do not establish that water activities will operate on your date. The weather guide explains how to use NMS weather information for planning.
Caves and geology: protect the formations
Leave cave formations untouched and do not climb them. The published guidance also says not to run or jump and not to leave litter. Follow the guide’s directions through the cave rather than treating the walls and formations as places to explore independently.

The undated published visitor guidance gives 40 inches, or 101.6 cm, alongside swimming ability and good physical condition. A guide, life vest and helmet with light are also required by that guidance.
Can I plan solely from the opening hours?
Use the normal timetable as a framework and obtain current water-activity instructions for your date. River conditions can affect the route and programme.
